VNPC is now accepting applications for the 2026 VNPC Community Fund. This grant opportunity is designed to support local initiatives aimed at improving maternal and/or infant health through innovative, community-driven efforts.
2026 Community Fund Awardees may be granted up to $7,500 to utilize within a six-month project implementation period.
Since the VNPC Community Fund was launched in 2024, two cohorts of maternal and infant health changemakers have been awarded through VNPC’s competitive selection process. Across the 2024 and 2025 cycles, 14 organizations stood out for their innovation, impact, and passion for improving the lives of moms and babies in their communities. The 2024 and 2025 cohorts represent a wide range of services and expertise, including:
- Doula providers and culturally responsive educators
- Infant health and safety non-profits
- Postpartum support and perinatal mental health non-profits.
The projects completed by the VNPC Community Fund awardees had big impacts across several Virginia regions. The initiatives ranged from distributing postpartum and newborn supply kits to providing culturally sensitive prenatal classes for Spanish-speaking families.
The VNPC Community Fund reflects VNPC’s commitment to supporting ongoing, local efforts that meet the needs of unique Virginia communities. Above all, VNPC strives to improve maternal and infant health outcomes across the Commonwealth. The Community Fund facilitates projects led by organizations already embedded in the very communities where support is most needed. As such, priority is given to projects that not only respond to urgent community needs but also demonstrate sustainability and equity.
